Sustainable Materials

Our Materials have been designed and tested by our manufacturers which are made from bio based content and have been sustainably sourced using raw materials such as sugarcane and other plant based fibres, by adopting this eco-friendly alternative, we pave the way for a cleaner, greener world and a circular economy, where waste is minimized and resources are conserved, please see material table below,

Recycling

Unlike conventional oil based plastics, our material can be simply and economically recycled adding it as an essential component of a circular economy, In addition to reusing and taking control of the breakdown of our materials which represent a comprehensive approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Low Carbon Foot Print

Our materials have a much lower carbon foot print when produced, the production of plant-based plastics typically generates fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to their petroleum-based counterparts. Recycling these materials further reduces carbon emissions, contributing to a lower environmental impact.

The Process

  • Grow it.

Our lampshades are sourced from natural and renewable resources such as corn starch and sugarcane as a raw material also known as PLA. Biodegradable under the right conditions and is one of the most popular bioplastics and is perfect for a variety of applications ranging from lighting to medical implants.

  • Transform it.

The raw material is then mechanically processed through milling to turn it into sugar which is then fermented in order to make lactic acid. This is then polymerized into small pieces of raw material or strands of polylactic acid

  • Build it.

We then use this bio material to create consciously designed lampshades with intricate detail which are impactful statement pieces. Each design is inspired by nature and has a sustainable ethos behind them.
